Tips

Do you want to start playing blackjack? This game might seem boring to several people, but the truth is: it can be quite challenging, especially if you play in casinos. Blackjack happens to combine patience, wit and skill, along with the chance to win at every game.

If you want to become an expert at blackjack someday, remember the following tips:

Strategical Tips

  • Follow a proper strategy. Blackjack and math happen to go hand-in-hand. After all, the game's main goal is to get as close to 21 as possible. It doesn't stop with math, though. You play versus the dealer and get to see a part of his cards. So, to make things easier, stick to a strategy as you play. Depending on how many decks are present, study a chart and memorize it, so you know when to hit, surrender, split, or double down. It might take some time to get accustomed to, though, so patience is also a key.
  • Double down only when necessary. Unless you're completely sure of winning or think you can get stronger hands, don't double down as this will only increase your bet. It would be best to keep a double down for hands lower than 9, or better yet, read your chart.

Other Tips

  • Practice. Practicing is always best before hitting the tables since you cannot do that as you play. Try out some free trials of the game online to do so. They follow the same rules, but as a simulation and without earning any money if you win.
  • Have a budget ready. Sometimes, people get so engrossed with their winnings that they fail to realize how much money they are actually spending. Blackjack is supposed to be a fun thing, not a mode of bankruptcy. Only bring money that can be spared whenever you play. If you end up winning a lot, then play some more, if you wish.
  • Change your bets every now and then. Common sense is always vital. In order to win a lot, bet high with strong hands. Decrease these bets any other time.
